Luckily, they've been solved by now. This will be the last video of me doing hunting for a while. I plan to postpone it until I get Reddas and better shots for Balthier, then I will have better chances against some of the marks. I will concentrate on storyline bosses in the meantime. The video indicates three hunts as follows - Ixtab, Nidhogg, Rocktoise. Ixtab: First of all, there are too many bats in the area he appears. Grab a bunch of Warp Motes and get rid of them. Once this is done, trigger his appearance. Balthier once again does good damage with Sirius + Wyrmfire Shot + Berserk and fast enough in Haste status. He theoretically has the best damage potential supposing he shoots critical. Ixtab is undead and as such receives damage from restorative items. I didn't bother stealing X-Potions yet (I will do that for Ahriman though), so Hi-Potions is the way to go. He is also weak to Holy, but I didn't want to waste my Holy Motes for this hunt. It is also a great tactic to delay his spell while Bal shoots, but we'll have a chance to manipulate this later, when things get really bad. Ixtab has a lot of spells in addition to physical attacks and techniques. Some are pathetic (Annul & Doom on a low level party is a joke), others are far more dangerous (Darkra, Watera). It also seems that he casts Watera without having to wait a second for it to charge so make sure you have Reflect on yourself at all times. I didn't. :P Nidhogg He has only 6K HP and that means that the faster you get rid of him the better. There is an annoying bat flying around in that area, furthermore, skeletons may pop out of the ground randomly. This made me forget about the idea of berserking Balthier, because my party is just a couple of experience points away from levelling up. Nidhogg always starts with Protect and has a 50% of having Shell, Haste and Bravery (all three at once possible too). We obviously do not want him to have any of those nasty buffs (well, sans Shell), and due to a lack of means to Dispel, we wait. Once the statuses are gone, throw all you've got at him. Note: hunts are annoying in a way that they tend to attack whoever has attracted the most Rage, as opposed to attacking the closest party member. This is frustrating because Balthier being the centre of your offense WILL attract the mark's attention very soon. I tried to prevent that by having Basch and Ashe target Nidhogg first, acting as a bait, and Balthier waiting a bit before starting to shoot. I got lucky here, as you can see. Bal shot critical once and blocked Nidhogg's attack just before it was about to kill him. The changing equipment trick also allowed me to kill Nidhogg before he was able to finish Bal off with his power Tail Spear move. Rocktoise This is the easiest hunt ever, and I thank the GameFAQers who have numerously pointed out this strategy in my NLBLLG thread. Once you reach the place located in the very northwest of the area, Rocktoise is unable to physically attack you and the only thing he can do is cast spells. Put Reflectga on the party and have Balthier shoot on the fastest battle speed. Have a gambit on one of the party members to heal Balthier with Potions, otherwise he will kill himself due to Rocktoise's innate Return Damage ability.
